Nestled within an expansive lawn in scenic Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, this multifaceted hardscape—devised by Weavers Landscape Design—is a true sanctuary for outdoor dining and lounging. Guests visiting this modernized patio can enjoy a full day of outdoor activities, both beneath the shaded arbor in the sun—equipped with an elegant overhead fan and open-air seating—and by a roaring fire by the stone-stacked fire pit in the evening. The well-balanced space allows larger groups of guests to fully utilize this gathering area, welcoming its residents back outside to appreciate the sprawling foliage that surrounds the installation. Since the space is broken into two conjoined areas, larger parties can seamlessly separate for varying activities and conversations. Overall, the newly laid-out structure of the patio accentuates the lawn’s natural hosting potential, while maintaining its balance with the surrounding rural beauty.
The combination of specifically curated stonework and masonry is what truly brings this space to an aesthetically balanced and memorable level of design. An alternating combination of tri-color Copthorne pavers, Courtstone, Richcliff, and Limestone Brussels Block complete the artistically inspired melding of textures and tones that blend the natural masonry with the surrounding yard. Adjacent retaining walls, arbor supports, and a fire pit also features a mixture of the patio’s sophisticated stone blend. The fire feature itself, provided by HPC, stretches seamlessly across the patio, safely welcoming guests to gather and chat throughout the night. All stones and surfaces were sealed with GST Wet Look High Gloss Sealer, assuring the installation remains strong and pristine with minimal upkeep.
For two months, the Weavers Landscape team designed and constructed this one-of-a-kind space, balancing out the final touches with a well-composed outdoor lighting design, as well as complementing plants and landscaping touches. In this dynamic patio, guests enjoy a seamless flow of movement and grand potential for hosting groups of loved ones, both day and night.
